WIB Membership
The Anaheim Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is asking for your help as we look to the future needs of our residents and employers to build a quality workforce in Anaheim. We are in the process of filling vacant board of director seats for individuals representing the business community.
The position of board member is one of great responsibility because it guides the future of workforce development programs in our local area. The purpose of the WIB is to provide leadership and policy direction for our local workforce investment system.
Board members will be expected to attend regularly scheduled bi-monthly board meetings and participate on subcommittees which last approximately one hour each. Board members are not asked to raise funds, as this is a fully funded program.
Our board is comprised of 31 members representing education, labor, community-based organizations, economic development and the private sector. The WIB is required to have its chair and a majority of its members from the private sector. Anaheim residence is not a requirement for board service, only a specific tie to the City, which could be a business location in Anaheim. The Anaheim Chamber of Commerce will nominate the private sector board members and the Anaheim City Council will appoint all board members. The Anaheim WIB also uses the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Orange County as a membership outreach body.
Business representatives considered for membership shall include owners of business, chief executives or operating officers with optimum policy-making or hiring authority.
Click here to complete and submit an application for membership consideration. |
